What the heck is going on!?

I just checked my email and had 92 unread messages, all from users wanting to connect with me or whatever. They're names were all like 4y8xGHGYS233 and crap like that. I know they're hacking bots or something nasty, and I've gotten a few emails like this before, but never this many at one time. Has this happened to anyone else lately?
