About alien abductees?

Do aliens abduct certain people for certain reasons? I know we don't and can't have all the answers, but are there any patterns of certain traits the abductees have, such as bad habits (smoking, etc..), certain mental or physical disorders (mental disease, eating disorders, etc...)? Or does it all seem to be at random?
