Biology Major, Help in Guidance?

I am going to be attending school this spring, pursueing a bachelors degree in biology and I was wondering what the steps are to becoming an animal training or a researcher. I know there are thousands of organizations, but I have failed on finding them. My ideal position years from now is caring for, researching, or training animals. Primarily researching however. I don't necessarily want to work at a Zoo, but something to that nature. Perhaps an endangered species reserve. I need some help though, I know vaguelly what I want to achieve but until I take some higher learning cles my sophmore year of college, I will not be able to pinpoint which part of biology interests me the most. At the moment it's mammals, and marine life is at the bottom but that may change with a better educational background. Please help me out if you can! It will be even better if theres an organization that will help with tuition too... Federal Gov't isn't offering me much because of my mother's salary. Thnx
