Is it safe for a kitten to eat roaches?

Just moved into our new apartment to find out we have roaches!! I woke up to my adorable little kitten munching something in the corner of our kitchen. Within seconds he ate that nasty thing! Now I'm afraid if he may get sick or is it ok for him to consume the nasty critters? x[
